Yogyakarta, November 29, 2023 - FMIPA UNY is honored to welcome Assist. Prof. Dr. Roseleena Anantanukulwong, from Industrial Physics Program, Faculty of Science Technology and Agriculture, Yala Rajabhat University, as a Visiting Professor. The event took place on Wednesday at the Session Room 2 FMIPA UNY. The meeting was enthusiastically attended by 5th semester students from Class C and Class D in the Science Education Department. The focal point of the discussion this time was "Local Wisdom in Science Learning," which became an interesting topic presented by Assist. Prof. Dr. Roseleena Anantanukulwong. This provided a rare opportunity for students to gain insights from a visiting professor who also discussed the same theme, especially related to "Culturally Responsive Teaching." Why did students from the Science Education Department choose to participate? The goal is simple but meaningful: to provide a different learning experience by involving lecturers from foreign universities. The diversity of views and approaches to learning is an added value of this program. Students who are taking a course on Local Wisdom in Science Learning can experience first-hand the application of the concepts they learn in real life, especially through a culturally responsive teaching perspective. Thus, the visit of Prof. Dr. Roseleena Anantanukulwong is a real step in supporting a holistic and global educational experience for FMIPA UNY students.
