Towards Superior Educational Collaboration: Visit of Bengkulu University's Science Education Undergraduate Study Program to UNY's Science Education Department

On May 2 2024, the Department of Science Education, Yogyakarta State University (UNY) hosted a visit to the Bachelor of Science Education Study Program from Bengkulu University. This event aims to expand the collaboration network between educational institutions and open opportunities for collaboration related to curriculum, learning, final assignments, laboratories and other facilities, as well as student activities. The visit involved 4 lecturers, represented by the Coordinator of Study Program, Dr. Sutarno, M.Si., and 58 students from the Science Education Undergraduate Study Program at Bengkulu University. They were received by various parties at UNY, including the Head of the UNY Science Education Department, the UNY Master of Science Education Study Program Coordinator, the Deputy Dean for Information Systems and Business Collaboration Research, and the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs for Student and Alumni Affairs. Also present were lecturers and students from HIMA IPA FMIPA UNY. The event took place in Meeting Room 3 FMIPA UNY from 09.00 to 12.00. Various discussion agendas were carried out to explore the potential for collaboration between the two institutions, such as sharing experiences in preparing curricula that are relevant to scientific developments, innovative learning methods, as well as research and development in the field of science education. The Head of the UNY Science Education Department warmly welcomed the visit from Bengkulu University and expressed readiness to establish mutually beneficial cooperation for both parties. Prof. Dr. Insih Wilujeng also emphasized the importance of collaboration between universities in improving the quality of education and developing human resources in the field of natural sciences. Meanwhile, Dr. Sutarno, M.Sc., as a representative from the Bengkulu University Science Education Study Program, appreciated the warm welcome from UNY and expressed his commitment to establishing sustainable collaboration. He hopes that this visit will be a good start to strengthen relations between the two institutions in supporting education and research in the field of natural sciences. This visit was not just an exchange of ideas, but also a real step in building a strong educational bridge between Bengkulu University and UNY. With this collaboration, it is hoped that new innovations will be born and an academic environment that is more dynamic and highly competitive will be created in facing global challenges in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0.
