Curriculum (2025-now)

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta as one of Indonesia’s leading educational universities, is strongly committed to producing graduates who are excellent, creative, innovative, and globally competitive. This commitment is realized through the development of the UNY 2025 Curriculum, which is designed to be adaptive, collaborative, and visionary in responding to the rapid transformations in education, science, technology, and human resource needs in the era of the Fifth Industrial Revolution (Industry 5.0). The curriculum development is based on a comprehensive evaluation of the implementation of the UNY 2020 Curriculum and refers to national regulations such as Law No. 12 of 2012 on Higher Education, the Indonesian National Qualification Framework (KKNI), and Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Regulation No. 53 of 2023 on Quality Assurance in Higher Education.

The UNY 2025 Curriculum is designed to produce graduates who possess a balanced combination of scientific knowledge, 21st-century skills, and strong personal character. It integrates life and career skills, learning and innovation skills, and information, media, and technology skills into the learning process. Following the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) paradigm, the curriculum emphasizes graduate learning outcomes that are relevant to the demands of society and the professional world. In addition to mastering hard skills, the UNY 2025 Curriculum also strengthens soft skills such as leadership, communication, digital literacy, critical thinking, and adaptability to technological developments including artificial intelligence and automation systems.

In line with UNY’s vision of “Becoming a world-class educational university that is excellent, creative, innovative, and sustainable,” the UNY 2025 Curriculum integrates ethical values, sustainability principles, and global citizenship awareness into all stages of curriculum implementation. The curriculum is oriented toward contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and supporting the national vision of Golden Indonesia 2045. Through this Curriculum Development Guideline, UNY ensures that the processes of curriculum planning, implementation, and evaluation are carried out systematically, effectively, and continuously to guarantee academic quality and to produce graduates who are characterized, adaptive, collaborative, and ready to contribute at national, regional, and international levels.
