Tadris IPA Study Program of UIN Madura Visits the Science Education Study Program of FMIPA UNY

The Tadris IPA Study Program of UIN Madura conducted an academic visit to the Science Education Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) on Tuesday, 2 December 2025. The visit, held in Meeting Room 3 FMIPA UNY, was attended by fifth-semester students led by Dr. Yunia Nabila Aziziy, M.Pd. The agenda aimed to broaden students’ understanding of curriculum design, academic governance, and laboratory management in science education at UNY. The delegation was warmly welcomed by FMIPA UNY leadership: Prof. Dr. Tien Aminatun, Vice Dean for Research, Collaboration, Information Systems, and Enterprise; Dr. Pujianto, Vice Dean for Planning, Finance, General Affairs, and Human Resources; and Prof. Dr. Insih Wilujeng, M.Pd., Head of the Department of Science Education. Also present were Purwanti Widhy, M.Pd., Coordinator of the Undergraduate Science Education Program, and Rizki Arumning Tyas, M.Pd., HIMA IPA advisor. Six representatives from HIMA IPA joined the session to accompany the visitors.

During the academic discussion, both parties exchanged information about the profile of FMIPA UNY, program structure, scholarship opportunities, and the distinctive elements of the Science Education curriculum—such as courses on Local Wisdom in Science Learning and Scientific Publication that encourage students to write for national and international journals. An interactive Q&A session followed, with students actively asking about organizational experience, departmental activities, and opportunities for collaboration between the two programs. Following the discussion, the delegates were invited to tour FMIPA UNY’s facilities, including the Science Laboratories (IDB and IPA Labs), Microteaching Laboratory, Audiovisual and Videography Lab, and the Computational Lab. Students learned about the practical session scheduling system, the role of laboratory technicians, and the integration of learning technologies—such as virtual reality devices used in media and technology courses.

At the end of the visit, Dr. Yunia Nabila Aziziy expressed her gratitude for the warm reception and comprehensive insights provided by FMIPA UNY. The Department of Science Education also conveyed hope that this visit would spark further collaboration in the areas of academic development, research, and scientific publication. The event concluded with an exchange of souvenirs, group documentation, and a campus tour. This academic visit reflects the shared commitment of both institutions to strengthening science education and advancing academic excellence in Indonesia.
