CV Astoetik Collaborates with UNY and Politeknik Piksi Ganesha Indonesia to Develop an Integrated Batik Wastewater Treatment Device

CV Astoetik, a leading company in certified electric batik equipment, has formed a strategic collaboration with two academic institutions—Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) and Politeknik Piksi Ganesha Indonesia. This joint effort focuses on research and student internship programs aimed at developing innovative technology to address wastewater from batik dyeing processes. The research is titled "Development of an Integrated Batik Wastewater Treatment Device Using Coagulation–Electrolysis–Filtration Systems", and it is supported by the Matching Fund Program from the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology. The initiative aims to produce a sustainable and effective tool for treating colored wastewater generated in batik production.

An initial coordination meeting was held via Zoom involving the research team—Prof. Dr. Dra. Eli Rohaeti, M.Si., Dr. Winarto, M.Pd., Dr. Agus Widyianto, M.T., and Asni Tafrikhatin, M.Pd.—along with CV Astoetik’s Director, Aris Stiyawan, A.Md., S.Pd., and students from UNY and Politeknik Piksi Ganesha. This meeting outlined the technical planning for the research and internship. CV Astoetik officially launched the internship program through a release ceremony, attended by the academic and industrial team. This event marks the beginning of a structured internship that will run through December 31, 2025. Two undergraduate students from UNY’s Science Education Department, Alya Dwiyussa Herdiyani and Firyal Amani Azzahra, are participating in this internship.

Speeches were delivered by Dr. Winarto, M.Pd., and Asni Tafrikhatin, M.Pd. from UNY, and Aris Stiyawan, A.Md., S.Pd. from CV Astoetik. The session also included briefings on the wastewater treatment system to be developed during the internship and research period. This collaboration demonstrates a powerful example of how industry and academia can work hand-in-hand to produce innovative solutions that benefit both the environment and society. Through this research and internship program, the project hopes to nurture technically competent and environmentally conscious young professionals.
