Collaborating for Excellence: Two-Day Field Assessment of Science Education Study Program at FMIPA UNY by LAMDIK

Yogyakarta, April 23–24, 2025 — The Science Education Study Program (S1 Pendidikan IPA) of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, conducted a two-day Field Assessment for Accreditation by the Independent Accreditation Agency for Education (LAMDIK). Two esteemed assessors, Prof. Dr. Wahono Widodo, M.Si. (Universitas Negeri Surabaya) and Prof. Dr. Niken Subekti, S.Si., M.Si. (Universitas Negeri Semarang), were welcomed in an opening session on Tuesday, April 23, 2025, held in FMIPA’s Meeting Room 2, and led by Dean of FMIPA UNY, Prof. Dr. Dadan Rosana, M.Si.

On the first day, the assessors began by engaging in a session with the UPPS and Accreditation Taskforce, validating data on institutional vision and mission, internal quality assurance systems (PPEPP), as well as quantitative data related to faculty members, students, infrastructure, and finance. This was followed by a discussion with alumni and graduate users, who shared insights into the competencies of graduates and the alignment between academic training and workplace demands. In the afternoon, the assessors held an interactive session with current students, who conveyed their experiences in academic services, learning environments, student involvement in the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) programs, and extracurricular activities.

 

On the second day, Wednesday, April 24, 2025, the agenda continued with sessions involving faculty members and educational staff. Faculty shared their approaches to teaching and integrating research into coursework, while administrative staff highlighted innovations in academic services and digital systems supporting academic operations. The assessors also conducted a direct observation of learning facilities, including laboratories, classrooms, libraries, and the microteaching studio, ensuring the physical environment aligns with the academic vision. The assessment concluded with final remarks from the assessors and reflections from the program and faculty leaders. The two-day event underscored FMIPA UNY’s dedication to upholding educational quality and its commitment to continuous improvement.
