Strengthening 21st Century Science Education: TPACK-P and Science Literacy Framework 2025 Workshop for Science Teachers in Yogyakarta

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (FMIPA UNY) held a Workshop on Science Teaching through TPACK-P and the Introduction of the 2025 Science Literacy Framework on Friday, July 18, 2025. The event, held at the 3rd Floor Meeting Room, gathered 50 science teachers from five districts across the Yogyakarta Special Region: Sleman, Bantul, Gunungkidul, Kulonprogo, and Yogyakarta City. The workshop was initiated as part of a needs analysis for the development of 21st-century science education, organized by a team of lecturers from the Science Education Department: Prof. Dr. Insih Wilujeng, Prof. Dr. Heru Kuswanto, Dr. Sabar Nurohman, Rizki Arumning Tyas, M.Pd., and Desy Purwasih, M.Pd. The first session was led by Rizki Arumning Tyas, M.Pd., who introduced the implementation of the TPACK-P (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge–Practice) framework in science teaching. The second session was delivered by Desy Purwasih, M.Pd., presenting the evolution of the PISA Science Framework from 2000 to 2025, with a focus on science identity, procedural-epistemic knowledge, and the theme of education for sustainability. This workshop aims to empower science teachers to enhance their teaching strategies through effective technology integration and to align with the global direction of science literacy education.
