Initiation of Educational Partnership: UNY and BRIN Design Collaboration on Research and Student Guidance

Tuesday, September 10, 2024, Yogyakarta State University (UNY) through the Science Education Study Program initiated the development of a partnership with the Education Research Center of BRIN (National Research and Innovation Agency). The meeting, which took place in the Widya Graha Grand Meeting Room, 7th Floor of the BRIN Building, Gatot Subroto, South Jakarta, was represented by the Science Education Study Program Coordinator, Purwanti Widhy Hastuti, M.Pd., and Science Lecturer Rizki Arumning Tyas, M.Pd.
BRIN was represented by several research experts, including Dr. Trina Fizzanty, Head of Education PR; Prof. Dr. Ence Oos Mukhamad Anwas, Prof. Research PR Education; Ibnu Salman, M.Pd., Program Coordinator; Anggraeni Dian Permatasari, M.Sc., Program Team; Dr. Deni Hadiana, Head of Research Group; and Dr. Janu Arlinwibowo, M.Pd., Head of the Research Group.
The discussion was productive, discussing various collaboration plans that turned out to be very relevant for both institutions. The research group at BRIN is very much in line with the research focus in UNY Science Education, creating great opportunities for future collaboration. One interesting point is the collaboration in supervising students' final assignments, where BRIN has the potential to become an external supervisor or examiner.
In addition, the research field related to ethnoneuropedagogy, which is relevant to the local wisdom course in science learning at UNY, opens up opportunities to conduct joint research. With the RIIM (Innovative Research for Advanced Indonesia) research scheme, BRIN is ready to support joint research with UNY Science Education, and this initiative will continue to be developed further.
