The Science Education Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), welcomed a benchmarking visit from the Science Education Study Program of Universitas Trunojoyo Madura (UTM) on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 09.00 AM to 12.30 PM. The visit aimed to strengthen curriculum development and improve the quality of academic program management. The UTM delegation consisted of 20 lecturers led by the Dean of FKIP Universitas Trunojoyo Madura, Dr. Badrud Tamam. The delegation also included the study program coordinator and lecturers focusing on undergraduate curriculum development.

The benchmarking visit was officially received by the Head of the Science Education Department of FMIPA UNY, Prof. Dr. Insih Wilujeng, M.Pd., along with the Coordinator of the Undergraduate Science Education Study Program, the Department Secretary, and Science Education lecturers representing student affairs mentoring, the Quality Assurance Unit, and the Head of Laboratory. In his remarks, Dr. Badrud Tamam stated that the visit aimed to learn best practices from UNY’s Science Education program, particularly in designing an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum for undergraduate programs. Through this benchmarking activity, UTM aims to develop a curriculum that is adaptive to technological advancements and current educational needs.

The discussion was interactive and productive, covering various academic management aspects, including OBE-based curriculum development, student activity credit conversion systems, and strategies for strengthening study program excellence. The UTM delegation also visited laboratory facilities to observe how practical learning is supported in the Science Education program at UNY. This activity is expected to strengthen academic collaboration between universities and support the improvement of science education quality in Indonesia through sharing best practices and strengthening institutional networks.
