The Student Association of Science Education (HIMA IPA), Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), through its Student Welfare Division, successfully held the IPA Family Dialogue on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 1:00 to 5:00 PM (WIB) via Zoom Meeting. The event carried the theme “From Aspirations to Action for More Progressive Science Education”, serving as an open forum for students to express their aspirations and engage directly with lecturers.

The event began with an opening session led by the MC, followed by the singing of the Indonesian national anthem and the HIMA IPA march to foster a sense of unity and nationalism. Opening remarks were delivered by the Head of the Science Education Department, the HIMA IPA advisor, and the President of HIMA IPA 2026. Participants then completed the initial attendance through a Google Form shared in the Zoom chat. During the main session, students actively voiced their concerns and aspirations, which were directly addressed by the lecturers. The discussion covered key issues such as thesis supervision, campus facilities, lecturer and staff performance, and the implementation of community service programs (KKN) and teaching practice (PK). The discussion was interactive and constructive, with lecturers providing clarifications, solutions, and follow-up actions.

This event functioned not only as a platform for expressing aspirations but also as a space for joint reflection and evaluation between students and lecturers to improve the academic environment. The enthusiastic participation highlighted the importance of open communication in building a responsive and collaborative educational ecosystem. Coordinated by Zahra Zafrina Aryanto as the Chief Organizer, the event concluded with a documentation session and final attendance. Overall, the activity ran smoothly and effectively. It is expected that the IPA Family Dialogue will serve as a sustainable communication bridge and encourage concrete follow-up actions toward a more progressive and high-quality science education.
